Prime Explosives was established in 1993, Prime has proven itself as a successful supplier of explosives in the North Island.

Our team are experienced for a variety of sites, climates and geology within NZ quarries and mines, including extensive experience working with coal overburden.

Prime Explosives manufacture and supply a bulk emulsion called PrimeX. PrimeX is designed to be pumped from a bulk delivery truck through a loading hose to the bottom of each blast hole. Prime Explosives emulsion plant is located on 300 acres of farmland in the North Island. Our practices ensure minimal impact on our environment.

We have 4 Mobile Mixing Unit’s (MMU) and a bulk tanker enabling us to meet the demands of our customers. All MMU’s are regularly serviced and maintained to ensure maximum productivity. Down time is minimal due to an adequate sized fleet to accommodate customer needs.
