Manufacturing Plant
Prime Explosives manufacture and supply a bulk emulsion called PrimeX. PrimeX is designed to be pumped from a bulk delivery truck, through a loading hose to the bottom of each blast hole. Located on 300 acres of farmland in the Kaimai Mamaku Ranges is the Prime explosives emulsion plant. Our practices ensure minimal impact on our environment.
Delivery Trucks
We have 4 Mobile Mixing Unit’s (MMU’s) and a bulk tanker which enables us to deliver on time the product demands of our customers. We regularly service all MMU’s. This ensures maximum productivity and safety.
Storage and Magazines
Prime is able to offer an extensive range of explosive products and accessories at competitive prices. Our large storage facilities throughout NZ enable us to supply customers in a timely manner.
Importing
Prime Explosives imports products from various countries, including USA, Sweden, South America and China. We have built long term relationships with all our suppliers. This enables us to order products in a timely manner at the best possible prices.
South Island Operation
Prime Explosives expanded into the South Island in Dec 2010. We have a new 6×6 MMU for emulsion and a 5 tonne truck to service our South Island customers. We currently have three full time employees, large warehouse facilities and explosive magazines in the South Island. The South MMU is capable of manufacturing a 50/50 blend of waterproof heavy ANFO; this provides many benefits including a higher density compared to most emulsion products. The heavy ANFO allows holes to be loaded up to 80 metres. Loading more product per linear metre, allos for increased drill patterns. This offers significant cost savings to the customer.
